InPad for Pocket PC is implemented as Soft
Input Panel (SIP). Input area is a window divided into several cells (click on the pictures to enlarge them).
This window (or pad) is not fixed, but floating and can be moved all over the screen.
Because it is a floating window, it doesn't occupy as much space as almost all input panels do.
If current pad's position overlaps your input area just move it aside.
Input is performed by drawing on the pad. While drawing, engine collects the sequence of cells which are being
crossed by the stylus.
After you release the stylus InPad tries to find the drawn stroke in its dictionary (stroke set).
Stroke can be assigned to characters, strings or special commands. Commands can be InPad specific, such as layout changes or
system wide commands, such as copy, cut, paste or application shortcuts. With 'Next Alternative' command you can use
strokes assigned to multiple characters. If stroke was recognized, its value is printed into active window or corresponding function is being executed.
InPad Customization
The main advantage of InPad is scalability and quick customization. Just tap lower button on pad (see picture)
and you'll see customization dialog in which you can assign your values to strokes you draw. In this way you can
tune active stroke set for your needs in few minutes.
Default stroke set contains latin and digital layouts. Latin layout is used for entering
letters for any language with alphabet containing latin letters and accented characters (English,
French, German, Italian, Spanish, etc). Digital layout is for entering digits and signs
arithmetical operations. You can learn how to write any stroke from default strokeset from demo.

InPad Stroke Set Editor for Pocket PC
If available strokesets (either default or found on this site) do not satisfy your needs
you can create your own stroke set with any number of layout subsets of Unicode characters and pad sizes.
